He spoke to the nation one year after the start of the covid outbreak.
President Biden held his first prime-time address to the nation on Thursday, marking the one-year anniversary of the CDC declaring COVID-19 as a nationwide pandemic. In his remarks, the president pledged to ensure that all Americans would be eligible to receive a vaccine by May 1. He also called on Americans to put aside their differences to build unity with one another.
He said that he believed the nation could “mark our independence from this virus” by the Fourth of July. He also said, “If we do our part, if we do this together, by July the 4th there’s a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would guide the president and his administration.
- For the Lord to help Americans live in unity with one another.
- For God to lead the nation and the world out of the covid crisis.
